Expect large amounts of background material which are not essential but will enhance the enjoyment of the game.

It is possible that the game may go past the end of the time slot, depending on how the players play, which the GMs will attempt to avoid, but they reserve the right to move to a chalet and finish things off. Additionally there will be brief periods where they will not be available whilst they commune amongst themselves about what the players are doing and some of them smoke!

D, I am told is for drama there is therefore no crisis, just a throne to be won. The drama though is waiting to happen – lies, death, and an ardent desire to win above all.

There will be a definable winner, and many, many definable losers. This is after all a Throne War game.

What is a Throne War I hear you ask?

A Throne War is a one-shot Amber RPG session in which the players compete to try to become King or Queen of Amber, no holds barred. Whether you want to intrigue your way to the top, poison everyone, or clamber your way their over a pile of bodies on the battlefield, it's up to you.

Well that's all well and good but what's this Amber thing you're talking about?

The Chronicles of Amber is a popular fantasy series by Roger Zelazny. The main series consists of two story arcs, each five novels in length. Additionally, there are a number of Amber short stories and other works.

In the Amber stories, Amber is the only true world; all others, including our Earth, are but "shadows" of the tension between it and Chaos. A second world, the Courts of Chaos, is situated in Shadow at the very edge of Chaos itself. Royals of Amber who have negotiated the Pattern, can freely travel through the shadows. By shifting between shadows, one can appear to alter reality by simply choosing which elements of which shadows to keep, and which to switch between.

The characters in the game will all be Scions of Amber, in line for the Throne. What can I say other than the game is centred around gaining control of the capital of Amber and holding it against all the cousins, brothers, sisters and possibly uncles and aunts out there.

Why would a player come along and play? Simply put this is an old fashioned pre-revisionist, post-deconstruction, non - reconstructed game, clear in objectives, direct in game play and painfully honest in how it will fall in the end piece. Player's choices rule, that is the deal, even when they get it patently wrong.

Female players will not suddenly discover they had children out of nowhere and nor will male players suddenly discover lovers they had no idea of either. This is a game of power, politics and winning.

Death is absolute however that does not mean that the game will have to end for the player. There will be secondary characters with actual plot and links to other people in the game if you are unfortunate enough to get killed.

Collis, Dave

Dave C is far too English to be able to write anything in this bio about himself. Seriously I find it embarrassing and awkward. Have a look at the documents we've posted and make your own decision. Additionally you could always ask Miss Lee, Mr Snowden, Young Master DT or Malk Williams any of whom I am sure would give you an honest appraisal.

Ps for real honesty get Malk to do his Yorkshire businessman shtick it is at least entertaining.

In the trade he'd probably be considered fresh meat, a choice morsel just hanging there from the hook! In a fair world allowed to age somewhat before strips of sweet, sweet flesh could be torn from his flanks to feed the hungry throng... but life just 'aint fair now is it! As it is he seems to have lost a good portion of his sweet meats and his prime cuts are just a few scraps of bloodied flesh sitting over gnawed bone.... err... what was I saying?!

What I mean is, hes a relative newcomer to the Live/Freeform world, and still consider himself a table topper at heart. He's never run a game in his life, although he has assisted in a couple. Hes a fan of post apocolyptia, hard scifi, political shenanigans, zombies, dark fantasy, alternate historys, epic heroics and reserves the right to fall helplessly in love with other genres at the drop of a hat!

That all said Andrew is a bolshy, egotistical, loudmouthed geordie (honest) with a prediliction for lying as if his life depended upon it whilst spreading scurrilous rumors about, and to, anyone he meets!

No seriously!
