Sinews of Peace

It is 1948. The Earl is dead - Long live the Earl. The funeral happened earlier today. The Lord Lieutenant and other worthies have left and only family and close friends remain.

In post-war austerity, the Attlee Government has instituted massive social change (the NHS, the 1944 Education Act, independence for India). The last ten years of War, and post-war greyness, mean that this is the first gathering of the friends and family since 1938. Sinews of Peace explores the cost of war for the 'winners'. There may be angst - there may be romance - there are definitely consequences!

Costuming should approximate to day wear for a funeral ie. black suits/ties for gentlemen and black dresses & hats for ladies... The character sheets should be about 4-6 pp of A4.

This is the second game in the Dulce universe. Players who have played Dulce et decorum est should know that Sinews will not necessarily reflect their outcomes from Dulce. There are references in particular character backgrounds to rape/murder/realistic war. Some characters will continue from Dulce et Decorum est but there are several 'new' characters (new to Sinews not new for this run!) so you do not need to have played Dulce to enjoy this. The game is set in a reasonably historical 1948. There will be references to real historical events in the character sheets. Players may rely on blue sheets and background but a general knowledge of post-War England may also help!

She may also have written to you about your accommodation here at Consequences.

Alison doesn't often bite so please say hello if you encounter her particularly if you haven't met her in the flesh before.
