Super-Villain Academy

Students, parents, faculty, and school administrators gather together before graduation, and this year the children of the legendary Future Villains of America are graduating, so their parents get to wreak havoc on their Alma Mater one last time. Will the staff be prepared?

Super-Villain Academy is a comedic live-action roleplaying (LARP) event, set in the present day near a Major Metropolitan American City. This is a short-form, one-shot theatre- style LARP with pre-generated characters and simulated combat (i.e., no boffer weapons).

Super-Villain Academy is set in a wacky comic book world where superpowers really exist, but on a lesser scale, i.e., there are no “Superman” types. The villains range from kinda wacky to deeply twisted. Think of The Tick meets Mystery Men meets The Incredibles meets Austin Grossman’s "Soon I Will Be Invincible" meets Jasper Fforde’s "Thursday Next" series meets … um … similar source material.

Most of the characters in the game are evil, amoral, or both. Super-villainous subjects (murder, robbery, conquering the world) are treated lightly.

Information for Players:Players are requested to make an effort towards costuming thematically. Players will be asked to fill out a short casting questionnaire after the game has filled and will receive their casting at least two weeks before the convention. Villainous subjects-- murder, theft, vandalism, world-conquering, mass murder, and so on are dealt with lightheartedly. No characters have been written to be specifically gender neutral, or specifically asexual/aromantic. Nearly all characters have some level of current or past romantic/relationship entanglement with at least one other character in the game. All relationships as written are hetero-; some of these have resulted in children.

B, Kate

Imperatrix: Team Villain

Kate was introduced to LARP in 1998-ish when people she'd known since Age 3 or earlier tricked her into coming to a game. In the intervening time, Kate was a player in a series of Washington, DC-based 3-year campaigns/chronicles, leading to a frockage closet covering a wide range of historical periods. Kate sold her soul (or just sold out?) and became a staff member for two subsequent series before repatriating to her native New England. Her writing and GM credits include the full-weekend LARP Drink Deeper, occasional scenarios for DC- area campaigns, and as an adopted American member of Intercon "Team Brit." These days, she's mostly floor-GMing other peoples’ games and taking it on the chin at UK Freeforms' annual events as one of the founding members of Team Villain.
